Jesus was a Jewish rabbi and prophet of Nazareth who was considered as great teacher by many Jews. After his death he became a central figure in the Christianity and a very important one in the other religions. The Muslims consider him as prophet, while the Christians as Messiah and Son of God, the second person (hypostasis) of the Holy Trinity. He is also called the Word (Logos) of God who for saving the human society from its sins "transformed" and became a man – Jesus Christ.
Large number of the scientists in the field of history and theology agree that Jesus was a Jew from Galilea that he was considered a teacher and healer, was baptized by John the Baptist and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate, under the accusation of libel against the Roman Empire. Main sources about the life of Jesus are the four Gospels of the New Testament from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Today, only few contemporary scientists believe that all ancient records for the life of Jesus are correct or incorrect.
The Christians believe that Jesus was Messiah whose coming was announced in the Old Testimony, which is one of the fundamental aspects about the differences in the view of Jesus with Judaism. The Christians believe that Jesus is a Son of God who came to bring the salvation and reconciliation with God and who resurrected after his crucifixion. Several Christian doctrines say that Jesus was a healer, making great miracles.
